SpareDesk ("we," "us") provides on-demand office and admin work for small businesses. This page explains what information we collect through getsparedesk.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it the way we'd actually explain it to a client, not the way a legal template would.
What we collect
When you submit a task request or ask us a question through the site, we collect what you type into that form — typically your name, email, phone number (if you give it), business name and industry, a description of the task, and any deadline or budget details you mention. We only ask for what's needed to scope and deliver the work.
We don't have a file upload on the site. If a task needs a file, we ask you to describe it and follow up by email — so any files you send us arrive as email attachments, handled the same way as the rest of your request.
What's collected automatically
Like most websites, ours may use an analytics tool (Google Analytics) to understand how many people visit, which pages they look at, and roughly where visitors are coming from. This is aggregate, anonymized usage data — it tells us "the pricing page gets a lot of traffic," not who any specific visitor is. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this; you can block or clear these through your browser's privacy settings without affecting how the site works.
The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way sends your browser's IP address to Google as a normal part of fetching the file, the same as loading an image from any external server.
How we use it
- To respond to your request or question and do the work you're asking for.
- To follow up about a task in progress — status, revisions, deadlines.
- To understand how the site is used, so we can make it clearer over time.
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't build marketing profiles from it.
Who we share it with
We're a two-person shop — we don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. A request submitted through the site is sent to us using Web3Forms, a third-party form-delivery service that relays your submission to our inbox by email. They process that data only to deliver it to us; they're not a data broker and don't use it for their own purposes.
Beyond that form-delivery step and the analytics noted above, your information stays between the two of us doing the work — the same confidentiality we describe elsewhere on the site: whatever you send us is used only to build what you asked for.
How long we keep it
We keep client request details and correspondence for as long as it's useful for the working relationship — mainly so we're not asking you the same questions twice on a repeat task — and delete or anonymize older records when they're no longer needed. If you'd like something deleted sooner, email us and we'll take care of it.
Your choices
- Opt out of analytics: use a browser extension or setting that blocks Google Analytics, or browse with cookies disabled.
- Ask what we have: email contact@getsparedesk.com and we'll tell you what's on file for you.
- Ask us to delete it: same email address — we'll remove what we can, short of records we're required to keep (e.g., for tax purposes on paid work).
Children's privacy
SpareDesk is a business-to-business service. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you're okay with the update.
